2018 Grape Ranch Golf League
Summary: Grape Ranch Golf Club (GRGC) golf league will commence in March with our kickoff event, the Myron “Al’ Rader Qualifier. The regular league play will consist of multiple events each week through the end of August. Once the normal league is completed, playoffs will start the 3rd week of September and will continue through October and we will conclude the season with a 1 to 2-day event final for the championship in mid-October. We will offer 9-hole events on Mondays and Fridays and we will have 18-hole events on two Saturdays each month. This league is open to ALL golfers, men and women, and kids 14 years old and above!

(3 separate flights of golfers will be part of the league.)
Discovery Flight
The Discovery Flight consists of golfers new to any type of competition and golfers looking for more of a social golf experience. Points will be awarded mostly for participation and the prize fund will be distributed through drawings and random skill based elements. This is a development league and really provides a fun way for folks to play with friends, improve skills, and hopefully help people feel more comfortable playing and competing with other golfers. Handicap is open to any level.
Intermediate Flight
The intermediate flight is open to golfers looking for competition with similar golfer abilities. Points will be awarded for participation and how each player finishes in each event. This flight will offer both social and competitive golf in equal amounts. Handicap range for this flight is for golfers with a course handicap at GRGC of 17 to 34.
Championship Flight
Competitors in the championship flight are seasoned golfers, they have competed in a number of golf tournaments, know the rules, and are looking for fair competition in multiple formats. Points will be awarded mostly on how each golfer places in each event. We will offer some social based events and blind draw events to bring a social aspect to this flight. Handicap range is open to golfers with GRGC course handicaps up to 16 and any golfers with a recent past history of a handicap of 16 or below.

Timeframe: League will commence March 10th (March 24th, alternate date due to weather delay) with the 1st Annual Myron “Al” Rader Qualifier. 18-hole Stroke Play Golf Competition for all flights and participants of the league.

League Events Included with Fee
Myron “Al” Rader Qualifier – League Opener, Initial league tournament to help finalize flights and an introduction to the league’s competition.
Sixteen (16) each 9-hole events played on Monday and/or Friday Afternoons*
(45 event offerings from March to August, each competitor must compete in a minimum of 17 each 9-hole events to qualify for playoffs and season ending finals)
Six (6) each 18-hole events played on Saturdays*
(13 event offerings on Saturdays from March to August, 2 each Saturday events offered each month, competitors must compete in a minimum of 6 Saturday 18-hole events
Two (2) each league playoff events (3 dates available)
must play with minimum number of Monday/Friday and Saturday Events to qualify
One (1) season ending final (League Championship).
League Final Participants will be determined based on league performance and playoff points obtained
*League price includes the minimum number of golf events to qualify for playoffs and finals. All golfers are allowed to play in as many events as available, GRGC members will pay $7 for each extra 9-hole or 18-hole event played, Non-GRGC members pay $22 for each extra 9-hole event and $32 for each extra 18-hole event. One and a half (1 ½) each 9-hole events can be substituted for one (1) Saturday event and one (1) Saturday event can be substituted for 1 ½ of the 9-hole event requirements. Each competitor is required to play in minimum of 5 each Saturday 18-hole events to be eligible for playoffs and finals.
Daily Prizes: Each daily event will offer prizes for that day’s event. Prizes will adhere to NCGA rules governing payouts and limits and will include pots for KPs, skins, etc. Payouts commensurate to field size.

Flight Champions**
The Champion of each flight will be taken on a 4-day golf trip which include multiple rounds of competitive/social golf at various venues within the surrounding area of each years’ destination.
**Each Flight Champion will be able to chose one other golfer in the league to accompany them on this trip. Accommodations, golf courses, transportation and meals will be provided based on prize money raised through league proceeds.
